“Vosso Dedo” (Your Finger), by Sílvia Prudêncio, is a project that has taken shape in different formats since 2017: posters, a website, and a book. Throughout these different formats, it has sought to maintain a dialogue of tension and ambivalence between various voices.
The book is based on the phrases on the posters, which are organized in a question-and-answer format, creating friction. On the one hand, there is aggressive and sexist discourse; on the other, a celebration of sexual language as a possibility for freedom, beyond the dichotomies of feminine and masculine.
In the background, a play of references around authorship, the work, and history offers an ironic and poetic critique of the conventional places of the author and artistic creation. These are statements that mix humor, violence, and lyricism, questioning who speaks, what is considered elevated, and how tone shapes discourse.
This is a project between the intimate and the political, which embraces the grotesque and the vulgar to play with the sublime
